iPad Screen Replacement Cost by Model

iPad screen replacement cost at Nova Fix runs from $69.99 to $499.99, and the biggest factor is how your model is built. On standard iPads the glass and LCD are separate, so a cracked surface can cost much less. Air and Pro displays are bonded, so the whole assembly gets replaced.

No repair on our price list has a wider range than this one. The cheapest iPad screen costs a fraction of the most expensive, and the reason has nothing to do with how bad the crack looks. It comes down to how your iPad was built.

Why the same crack costs different amounts

Standard iPads and older models are built in layers. The outer glass carries the touch sensor, and the LCD that makes the picture sits under it. If you crack the surface and the picture still looks right, only the glass needs replacing. That is why we list Screen and LCD separately on those models, and it is where the savings are.

Recent iPad Air and mini models and every iPad Pro bond those layers into one laminated panel. There is no glass-only repair, so a crack means a whole new display assembly. Those models have one listed price, and it is higher.

So check two things before you call. Is the picture normal under the crack? And is your iPad a standard model, or an Air, mini or Pro? Open Settings, tap General, then About to see the model name.

Lines across the picture, black patches or a screen that lights up with no image mean the LCD is damaged too. Dead spots in touch can be the glass or the connection, and we test that before you commit.

How Apple's price compares

Apple's estimator does not list a separate iPad screen line. It gives one "other damage" figure per model, and Apple inspects the iPad to set the final fee. We read those figures on Apple's iPad repair page on November 5, 2026.

Model Apple's "other damage" estimate against ours
iPad 9 Above our full Screen and LCD price, and three times our glass-only price
iPad 10 About 40 percent above our LCD price
iPad Air 5 About double ours
iPad Pro 11 (3rd gen) About double ours
iPad Pro 12.9 (3rd and 4th gen) More than double ours

Out of coverage, then, an independent repair usually costs much less. With AppleCare, the sum changes: accidental damage is a service fee, and on a Pro that fee is worth checking before you do anything else.

Fix it or replace it?

Compare your quote with a working used iPad of the same model, not with a new one. A cheap glass repair on an iPad 9 is an easy yes for a tablet that still does its job.

An old iPad Pro needs more thought. A bonded display near the top of our list can cost as much as a used replacement, and if the battery is also tired you would be paying twice. Check whether your iPad still gets iPadOS updates too, since a repair stops paying off once your apps stop working.

Back up before you hand over any iPad if the screen still responds. Then see how the work goes on our iPad repair page, book a repair, or use mail-in service if you can't get to Chicago Ave.

What else can we fix?

What do people ask us?

How much does an iPad screen repair cost?

Listed iPad screen prices run from $69.99 for older models to $499.99 for the largest iPad Pro displays. Find your model in the table on this page. If it is not listed, call (773) 741-6682 and we will price it before any work starts, so you can compare it with a replacement.

What's the difference between screen and LCD repair?

On many iPads the outer glass and the LCD beneath it are separate layers, so we list them separately. If the picture is fine and only the surface is cracked, the screen option may be all you need. Lines, black patches or a dead display point to the LCD. We check before you pay.

Is it worth fixing an old iPad?

Often, yes, if it does what you need. Older iPads have some of our lowest prices and work well for reading, video and kids. Check whether your model still gets iPadOS updates and whether the battery holds up. If either has become a problem, compare your quote with a used iPad first.

Does AppleCare cover a cracked iPad screen?

AppleCare coverage includes accidental damage for a service fee, and that is usually cheaper than an independent repair, especially on an iPad Pro. Check your coverage on Apple's support site and compare the fee with our listed price. If Apple is the better choice for your iPad, go with Apple.

Do you repair iPads newer than the ones listed?

Call (773) 741-6682 with the model and we will tell you. Our public list stops short of the newest Air and Pro models, and those are worth a conversation before you decide, because a bonded display on a recent iPad is an expensive part and Apple's coverage may be the better path.
