Nova Fix warranty and policies

Our phone repair warranty and shop rules in plain English: what is covered, what isn't and how to make a claim.

What does the 90-day warranty cover?

The Nova Fix warranty lasts 90 days and covers manufacturer-defective parts and merchandise. Labor may apply. All sales and repairs are final unless covered by this warranty.

In plain terms: if a part we fitted turns out to be faulty, we deal with it. The warranty is about the part, not about what happens to the device afterward.

What's covered and what isn't?

These examples show how that usually plays out.

Usually covered:

  • A new screen that develops dead touch zones, lines or flicker with no sign of impact.
  • A new battery that won't hold a charge or shuts the phone off early.
  • A new charging port that stops working in normal use.
  • A replaced console HDMI port that loses connection without being knocked.

Not covered:

  • New physical damage, like a cracked screen from a second drop.
  • Liquid damage that happens after the repair.
  • Faults in parts we didn't replace, even if they appear later.
  • Damage from someone else opening the device after we worked on it.
  • Software problems, lost data, or an iPhone parts notice in Settings, which we explain before the repair.

What does "labor may apply" mean?

The warranty always covers the defective part. Depending on the job, there may be a labor charge to fit the replacement. We tell you whether one applies before we do anything, and the choice stays with you.

How long are water damage repairs covered?

Water damage repairs carry a 30-day warranty. The period is shorter because corrosion can keep spreading on a board after a good cleaning, and it can take out parts we never touched. Read more on our water damage repair page.

Your data and cards

Nova Fix is not responsible for data or software loss during repair, or for SIM cards and memory cards left in devices. Back up your device first if you can, and take your cards out before you hand it over.

How long do you have to pick up?

Devices not picked up 90 days after we notify you that the repair is complete may be recycled. If you need more time, call us.

What should you do before bringing it back?

Keep your receipt, because you need it for a claim. Tell us what changed since the repair and when it started. Back up your device first if it still turns on. Please don't open the device or take it to another shop first, because we can't honor a claim on a part someone else has handled.

How do you make a warranty claim?

To use your repair warranty in Chicago, bring your device and receipt to 1927 W Chicago Ave, Ste 1F during open hours, or call (773) 741-6682. We test it while you wait when we can, and tell you what we found. If a part we fitted is at fault, we replace it. If we have to order the part, we tell you how long it will take.

What about mail-in repairs?

Mail-in repairs carry the same warranty. Contact us first, before you ship anything, and we will tell you how to send the device back. See how mail-in repair works.

Does our warranty replace Apple's?

No. Our work is separate from Apple's warranty and AppleCare, and Apple doesn't cover independent repairs. If your device is still covered, read our iPhone repair page and check with Apple first.
